I think it must be the nature of forums!
It's a bit like how motorists treat other motorists (as crap) cos they can't really relate to each other, unlike pedestrians, who are able to read the real intent in the smile and eyes and oops! exclamations!
I follow a forum here - tho don't contribute - http://www.arboleas.co.uk/forum/ - they are always having a go at each other and there must be no more than 5000 Brits in the wider area - as opposed to the 200k in NE Derbyshire.

Unfortunately the forum doesn't have a wide enough userbase at the moment, meaning people create petty arguments between themselves and can frequently target the same people.

Hopefully, one day, it'll grow beyond that. At the moment half of the reason it doesn't grow is because every thread changes topic to some tit-for-tat argument about something completely different, and i don't have the time or inclination to monitor it all. You've got to be gutsy, or a fool, to even consider posting half of the time if you've not already got your 'forum character' established.

It's all a bit sad really.

agree totally. Anyone with any opinions contrary to the `expected` ones tend to get jumped on by some and when a post I thought helpful to people and stated the nature of the scam I posted about gets turned around to be `racist` it`s time to not bother, as you know I posted a lot on the old forum and will debate with anyone, but at the end of the day there was just no point at all. I suspect it`s why a lot of people don`t join. Well done on the work you`ve done setting it up Westy, but I don`t even feel any point in posting the odd scams thread now.
And no, I`m not going to get in a debate over anyone with what I`ve said.

Cue another 7 pages disseminating me for saying my piece!
