The Fox and Goose at Wigley

The refurbishments are now complete. Beautiful Orangery and dining terrace with amazing views and an intimate private dining room. Also a great wedding and function venue (they've a free shuttle service to and from Brampton Manor).

I've just redesigned and launched their website (still a few bits to finish off) - Menu's are online so if you fancy something a little different and out in the countryside then it's well worth a visit :) Have a look at the events and entertainment section, they've some excellent entertainment events coming up.

The website address is www.thefoxandgooseinn.com

Cheers,
Kieron

The legendary Steak sandwich with Don's special sauce isn't back by any chance?

Funnily enough, this is on the Food page:

And in tribute to former pub landlord Don Newsome - who made The Fox and Goose famous for the steak sandwiches he cooked on a copper grill, which is still behind the bar - there is a signature Steak Canadienne with a secret sauce.

As long as there are no drunken Great Danes to trip me up.

Went up to the Fox and Goose for tea last night. Was ok but a little chaotic with what appeared to be waiting staff still learning the ropes. We also had a table that took full advantage of the window into the kitchen and it looked a little chaotic in there as well. Microwave was in full use and what was advertised as "real hand cut chips" may well have been but it appears they were "hand cut" somewhere else at another time, frozen and then chucked in a deep fat fryer to cook them!!

Since when was Wigley 'between Chesterfield and Sheffield' as the website states?

Knowing my daughters' (non) sense of direction, that's quite possible!
